my book is out, finally
My first novel has just been published by Rupa & Co. It’s called Jet City Woman. The title comes from a song of the same name by a band called Queensryche, best known for their 1988 album Operation: Mindcrime. My novel comes to just under 200 pages, and is priced at Rs. 195. The ISBN number, if you require it, is 978-81-291-1278-1.

grace: don't know about it becoming a bestseller, but will be happy if you read it and enjoy it. i think copies have just started reaching cities other than Delhi, so keep asking at the bookstore. kunal: i'm glad you liked the book. it would be great if you recommended it to friends. i hope all of you keep visiting this blog, as there's a lot more on the book to be posted.
REVIEW
JET CITY WOMAN is a very readable book that highlights the travails and follies of youth arising out of the "heart ruling he head syndrome".It is also a book full of coincidences. The language is simple and the style fluent. The author may have done well to dwell a little more on the geographical locations of some of the places in the North East that he mentioned. That way, it would have been easier for the readers beyond the region to conceptualize. All in all, it is a book that grips you and keeps you guessing till the end.

Thanks Ankush... have never read a novel before but i swear it's good... the way truth unravels itself is always mysterious... switching back and forth from one destination to the other in search of our destiny is but another truth of life... what one longs for may not always be what one gets.. and we have no choice but to live with our fate.
Hoping to see another piece from you on the stands soon.
Listoo..m so happy fr u..waiting 2 lay my hands on da book..my prayrs wth u.

After a long time I came across a book which I can identify with. Although all the characters are fictitous( a little doubt is there!!)the resemblance is so close that while I was reading I was going back into my college days and life in north camous. All in all a fantastic must read work of art. Man you did all of us, who know you for all these years proud. All the best for your future books. Cheers and Hoi Kiw Malhotra!!!This is no Wahem ): for sure.
Mark

Kulkul, Tultul, Grace, Mark, Bok, Albert, and Anonymous: Thanks for making some time for the book, and hope you keep visiting this blog.
I got hold of a copy of your book in Shillong today and must congratulate you on this maiden venture! It's a good read, and I liked the way you've captured the conflicted love-hate relationship with Delhi while being always pulled back to this place called home... the DU and Shillong bits are about places I'm so familiar with that it's good to read about them in a novel for the first time. All the very best!
nano: nice to know that you got yourself a copy, and nicer still to know that you liked it! When you say, "...the DU and Shillong bits are about places I'm so familiar with that it's good to read about them in a novel for the first time.", well, i feel like i've done a good job.
